seitosokusha:

So despite my poll asking what kind of origami figure you guys wanted to see, I ended up with a keyblade. Yes it isn’t to scale (plenty people were asking me while I was making it). I figured if I’m going to take to Kawaii Kon next year, making it to scale would be rather hard to transport especially when I want to make more than one keyblade). It currently stands at about 10” not counting the mickey mouse keychain, which is probably about 1/3 of a scale of a full sized one.
Lots of little flaws in this one (the center post is just a little too thick compare to the key part and likewise the key part could be a bit longer). But I learned a lot and while I’m not sure if I’ll make another the Kingdom Key (at least for the con) I know what I would fix next time around. :3
I do want to try other keyblades. I’m thinking trying either Kairi’s Destiny Embrace or Riku’s Way to the Dawn. Maybe. They’re fairly complex (compare to the simple Kingdom Key) and of course, finding colors. Something more traditional in shape like Lady Luck or Three Wishes might be a better place to start. But that’s a project for another night.
And of course giving credit where credit is due. I was inspired by this keyblade origami:
